China's largest oleochemical facility advances
Apical Oleochemical (Taixing), an RGE China operation, has celebrated on the completion of the initial phase of its ‘oleochemical industry integration project’ at Taixing in Jiangsu province. Construction for the initial phase began in July 2021 and was completed in March 2023, with production starting in June.
This facility is claimed to be the largest of its kind in China, with 600,000 tonnes/year of capacity for fatty acids, hydrogenated oil, oleic acid, glycerine and related products from palm oil. Apical’s China headquarters and R&D centres are also to be based in Taixing, which is said to be “China's premier oleochemical base”.

Symrise and India’s Virchow Group have agreed to make personal care ingredients from the Symrise portfolio through a new joint venture called Vizag Care Ingredients, beginning within 1H. This will be based on Virchow’s synthetic chemistry capabilities for API manufacture.
