Further investment into Sterling
Global Healthcare Opportunities (GHO), a European specialist investor in healthcare, and Partners Group, a global private markets firm, have both invested in Sterling Pharma Solutions, a CDMO owned by GHO. The exact amounts have not been disclosed.
The two companies said that the new investment will give Partners Group “a significant minority stake”, while GHO retains the majority. They added that it “will support Sterling as it accelerates its growth plans through the expansion of production capacity across the UK, Europe and the US” and also to make further strategic acquisitions. Kevin Cook remains CEO.
GHO has owned Sterling since 2019, during which time it has grown from a single site UK to “a global full-service complex small molecule API platform with differentiated chemistry capabilities” and five sites, trebling its revenues and quadrupling its earnings. Most recently, it acquired massive additional capacity with the former Novartis site at Ringaskiddy in Ireland (pictured).
