RDMO BioDuro has opened a new laboratory in the Waigaoqiao district within the Free-Trade Zone of Shanghai, for the synthesis of highly potent compounds at the hundreds of grams scale. It is designed to accelerate discovery and early development programmes for conjugated drugs, including antibody-, peptide and radionuclide-drug conjugates.
The facility will operate within occupational exposure band (OEB) 5 and is equipped with isolators, closed-system reactors and a dedicated HEPA-filtered HVAC system. Its potent handling rating means that trained technicians can operate safely within an OEL down to 0.1/μg/m3.
This follows shortly after the company opened a kilogram-scale, solid-phase peptide synthesis scale-up laboratory at the Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Park campu. This was done to enhance its capabilities to meet increasing demand for scalable manufacturing of various peptide molecules, including linear and cyclic peptides and peptide-drug conjugates.
This facility was designed to complement the peptide discovery synthesis centre at BioDuro’s Beijing campus, which focuses on early-stage R&D, enabling projects to be integrated from discovery to development. The chemistry teams at both campuses specialise in solid- and liquid-phase synthesis. The firm’s peptide platform also includes biology and DMPK services.
