Safic-Alcan buys into India

Distributor Safic-Alcan has acquired a majority stake in Avees Biocos, a personal care chemical distributor in India, which had already been distributing its Safic Care range in India for many years. The company described this as a strategic move to “diversify its activities in the Asia Pacific region and reinforce its personal care footprint with strong synergies now across continents”. 

Avees Biocos was established in 2007 and is based at Gurugram, near Delhi. It offers products such as biopolymers, preservatives, emollients, sensory modifiers, UV filters, skin and hair care actives, emulsifiers, fragrances and functional polymers, and has an innovation centre to develop formulations for its clients.
