Barcelona-based Tradebe Life Sciences has acquired Florachem from SK Capital Partners in what it describes as part of its strategic plan to drive growth and international expansion into the flavours and fragrances (F&F) industry following previous buys in Europe. This will be its first presence in the US. Florachem will join the Life Sciences business line.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and active in over ten countries. Florachem employs 40. It makes concentrated fractions, extracts and natural ingredients derived from citrus, pine and speciality rosin resins for the F&F, personal care, coatings, adhesives and industrial markets. In its last fiscal year, it had sales $42 million, which are projected to reach $66 million by the end of 2025.
SK Capital, which originally acquired Florachem in April 2022, said that it “experienced dramatic growth” in the past three years as a result of investments in the leadership team, organizational build-out and completing an advanced food-grade manufacturing facility in Lakeland. Terms of the current deal were not disclosed.
