Robinson Brothers, a UK manufacturer of speciality organic chemicals, celebrated 150 years in business on 14 September, with a special event. This was attended by some 900 people, including employees’ families, shareholders and industry partners in the form of CDR Pumps, Flotronic Pumps, Waterwide, Harnwick Freight, NERO Pipeline Connections, KMB Shipping, Positive Weighing Solutions and Floserve.
The company, which remains in family ownership, was founded in 1869 and has been based at West Bromwich ever since. As well as chemistry and engineering demonstrations showing some of the manufacturing processes carried out there, the Toyota’s Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric car and displays from local naturalists were on show. Special guests include Sameena Ali Khan from ITV Central News and Blind Dave Heeley, the seven-marathon challenge runner and inspirational speaker.
