Together for Sustainability (TfS) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Partnership for Carbon Transparency (WBCSD PACT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable practices within global supply chains. This follows several months of work to strengthen their relationship.
As a result, they have pledged to support each other in their respective Scope 3 and product carbon footprint (PCF) implementation programmes through enhanced communication and joint events. They have also been working to ensure that their PCF guidelines are “complementary and free of discrepancies”, eliminating any duplication of reporting.
The TfS PCF data exchange system, using Siemens' SiGreen technology, has been piloted both with TfS members and their suppliers. It will be officially launched in 2H 2024. TfS said that this “enables PCF exchange at scale both within the TfS community, the chemical sector at large and beyond”.
