Chemours has formally inaugurated its new innovation centre, the Chemours Discovery Hub, on the University of Delaware’s Science, Technology & Advanced Research (STAR) Campus in Newark. The hub is said to be one of the largest R&D centres in Delaware and one of the largest R&D facilities in the chemical industry.
It covers 28,700 m2, comprises more than 130 individual laboratories and houses over 300 researchers and scientists. Some of Chemours’ own products were used in it, including 43.5 tonnes of Opteon spray foam for insulation, Ti-Pure TiO2 in external paint and Teflon fluoropolymers for cable insulation
