Azelis enters Israel with Orklia buy

Azelis has extended its reach into Israel by acquiring Orkila Israel, a speciality chemicals distributor in Israel active in multiple market segments, including agrochemicals, animal nutrition, personal care, food, pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals. Terms were not disclosed.

Anna Bertona, CEO and president of Azelis EMEA, cited as reasons the presence of Orkila, and its forerunner in the Israeli market for almost four decades, its existing relationships with many international principals and the market knowledge of its employees, who are all transferring. Multiple cross-selling opportunities have been identified

The deal is also described as consistent with Azelis’s strategy of complementing organic growth with strategic acquisitions. Already this year, it had acquired: PT Primaditha Jaya Mandiri in the Indonesian food market; CosBond, a speciality chemicals and food ingredients distributor headquartered in Hong Kong and with facilities in China; and S. Zhaveri Pharmakem, in India’s pharmaceutical market.
