Cepsa implements blockchain system
Spain’s Cepsa Chemicals has just launched a new blockchain-based system that will enable it to track the palm and coconut oil it uses as raw material all to the way to use in its production of biodegradable surfactants. The company had launched NextLAB, the world's first sustainable linear alkylbenzene (LAB), earlier this year.
This is the first system of its kind to be used in the homecare and detergents industry. It was custom-designed for Cepsa by Finboot, based on Finboot’s Marco Track & Trace digital traceability system. In this first phase of the project, Cepsa will use it in two products: NextLab-R, which is produced in Spain and Brazil; and LAB Low Carbon, which is made in Canada.
