Chemspec Europe 2020 postponed
Mack Brooks Exhibitions, which is now part of Reed, has today announced the postponement of Chemspec Europe 2020, which was scheduled to take place at Messe Cologne on 11-12 November. The next event in the series will next place in its usual late spring slot, at Messe Frankfurt on 19-20 May 2021.
A digital event will take place during the planned November slot, for which details will follow. This will offer matchmaking facilities to conduct business meetings, plus webinars and further digital content.
Mack Brooks said that the decision “was taken after extensive conversations with all exhibitors and partners over recent weeks and months, who have expressed their preference not to hold the show in November in light of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis”. Chemspec Europe is also highly international in nature and continuing travel restrictions on potential visitors would also have impacted it.
This follows on from the earlier cancellation or postponement of almost all the other major fine and speciality chemicals shows for the year in Europe. CPhI Worldwide and In-Cosmetics are both also being replaced by digital events. UK-based ChemUK 2020, SCS Formulate and Making Pharmaceuticals are all off as well.
