Piramal to expand Canadian facility
CDMO Piramal Pharma Solutions business is to expand its Aurora facility in Aurora, Toronto, by investing C$25 million in a new API wing. This will add 975 m2 of additional space to address increasing customer demand. It will also support the manufacture of HPAPIs down to OELs of 1µg/m3.
The expansion will include two new reactor suites, a dedicated filter dryer room and a portable filter dryer. This is expected to be completed and in operation by the end of April.
The announcement followed 11 days after the much larger transaction in which Piramal Enterprises, PPS’s parent company, sold its Decision Resources Group (DRG) healthcare insights & analytics operation to Clarivate Analytics. The $950 million deal is expected to close at the end of February, subject to shareholder approval.
