Luxembourg-based carbon black giant Orion has made a Form 8-K filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) stating that it expects to record a one-time pre-tax charge of about $60 million. This is apparently the result of a wire fraud scheme, though this was not explicitly spelled out.

TiO₂ producer Tronox is facing a Phase 2 investigation from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) into its proposed acquisition of the TiZir titanium and iron business from French mining and metallurgy group Eramet. The company said that it may offer unspecified ‘remedies’ before this goes ahead.
