Vink Chemicals makes two buys

Germany’s Vink Chemicals has in short order acquired ISP Biochema Schwaben in Memmingen, Bavaria, and several ranges of technical biocides and oil and gas additives from Schülke & Mayr, another German firm. No financial terms were disclosed in either case.

Vink is based at Kakenstorf, Lower Saxony ,and derives about 95% of its sales from biocides, with amine-based catalysts accounting for much of the rest. The company said that the ISP buy “will broaden the production capacity next to the already existing production site in northern Germany” and that the Memmingen site “fits perfectly” with its strategy.

From Air Liquide subsidiary Schülke & Mayr, Vink has acquired the Parmetol, Grotanal and Grotamar ranges, as well as oil and gas additives. The biocides will henceforth be produced at Kakenstorf and Memmingen. Schülke & Mayr intends to focus more on its core areas of healthcare and personal care.
