Seqens opens ‘I&D’ centre

Seqens has officially opened its main innovation and development (I&D) centre called Seqens’Lab at Porcheville, near Paris, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Agnès Pannier-Runacher, secretary of state to the Minister of Economy & Finance. This covers a space of 34,000 m². The amount invested in it was not disclosed.

The company describes Seqens’Lab as “a unique ecosystem, dedicated to our customers to accelerate their projects from the early R&D stages to production and sales”. It will be mainly active in the end use markets of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and speciality ingredients.

SMEs and start-ups specialised in analytical services and CROs will both also be based there. Christophe Eychenne-Baron, R&D director, added that Seqens also wants “to facilitate interactions with our academic partners and create a LabCom with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) to design and develop highly innovative solutions”.

Key capabilities at Seqens’Lab include: organic chemistry development; laboratories for physics, solid-state chemistry and process safety; kinetic and thermodynamic simulation tools; flow chemistry and other emerging technologies; and large-batch manufacturing for pre-clinical and clinical studies, all to cGMP.
