Solenis makes two buys
Solenis, which makes speciality chemicals for water-intensive industries, has made two acquisitions in the space of three days: Lilleborg, a Norwegian firm that supplies professional cleaning products, and Aqua ChemPacs, a Pennsylvania-based maker of concentrated liquid chemical packs. Terms were not disclosed in either deal.
Lilleborg had been a long-term partner with Solenis’s Diversey subsidiary. The company said that the buy “allows Diversey to expand into the Norwegian water treatment market with a direct channel, offering food and beverage customers an expanded portfolio of solutions”. The previous owner, Orkla, is now focusing on being an industrial investment company.
Aqua ChemPacs’ products are described as “pre-portioned, concentrated liquid chemical packs utilising low-carbon-footprint packaging” that dissolve in water. These are used in restaurants, retail stores, healthcare and educational facilities, arenas and event venues as an alternative to bottled chemicals. They have achieved Green Seal Certification for excellence in sustainability and production processes.
