WeylChem invests at Lamotte
Following on from recent investments at other group sites, WeylChem has announced plans to spend over €5 million to upgrade its speciality chemicals assets at Lamotte in France. Here, the company makes glyoxal and glyoxylic acid, which are both building blocks for applications in multiple fields.
The investment includes installing an acid-proof filter dryer to expand isolation capabilities, a stainless steel thin-filter evaporator for the distillation of temperature-sensitive products and new stainless steel reactors to create a multi-purpose production line. In addition, WeylChem will bring in a fully automatic solids filling and packaging line, and automated cleaning systems for the new production train.
“With this investment we enlarge our service offering with additional flexible equipment at a site that is managed by ourselves. This gives us a clear advantage on the cost site and qualifies us to be the partner of choice”, said Dr Uwe Brunk, president of the WeylChem Group.
