Cepsa become Moeve

Spanish energy and chemicals company Cepsa has renamed itself Moeve. This is described as part of the Positive Motion strategy, under which the company is seeking to position itself as “a leader in sustainable energy and mobility” with most of its profits coming from sustainable activities by 2030.

The company is already decarbonising its operations through an €8 billion investment strategy. Over 60% of this will be dedicated to sustainable businesses, including the production of green hydrogen, 2G biofuels, sustainable chemical products and ultra-fast electric charging.

New strategy and branding for Brenntag

At its latest capital markets day, distribution giant Brenntag announced ‘Strategy to Win’, its detailed strategic growth plan including new mid-term targets until 2026. It also unveiled a new brand identity. ‘Strategy to Win’ is the second phase of a planned “transformation journey”.

Rebrands for AMRI and Arcinova

Two pharmaceutical CDMOs, AMRI in the US and UK-based Arcinova, have almost simultaneously announced full corporate rebranding exercises. The former has become Curia, which is derived from a Latin word for ‘purposeful assembly’, as of 12 July, while the latter is taking the name Quotient Sciences – Alnwick.

Nouryon spins out Nobian and rebrands

As part of its ongoing strategy, Nouryon is to spin out its base chemicals business into a separate company called Nobian. This should be complete by early Q3. Both will remain under the ownership of the Carlyle Group and GIC and Nouryon intends to reduce its own debt with the proceeds of a planned external financing by Nobian.
