CHT adds container cleaning and recycling

CHT has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new container cleaning and recycling plant at its site in Dusslingen, Germany, costing about €5 million. The company describes itself as a medium-sized global player for speciality chemicals that focuses on “sustainable chemical products and process solutions”, mainly in textile and general industrial applications.

TfS and WBCSD PACT join forces

Together for Sustainability (TfS) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Partnership for Carbon Transparency (WBCSD PACT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable practices within global supply chains. This follows several months of work to strengthen their relationship.

ACC highlights chemistry in sustainability

At its Responsible Care & Sustainability Conference on 7 May, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) released a new report, entitled ‘Sustainability Starts with Chemistry’, in order, it said “to highlight the crucial role the chemical industry plays in advancing sustainability progress around the globe”.

Members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force have published an open letter to suppliers in the supply chain, asking them to commit to joining the initiative and working towards climate and sustainability targets. The CEOs of AstraZeneca, GSK, Merck& Co., Novo Nordisk, Sanofi and Samsung Biologics, and the chairman of Roche all signed it.
