Ecolab has opened its new manufacturing plant in the Ho Nai Industrial Park, near Ho Chi Minh City. Covering 30,000 m2 and featuring a laboratory, manufacturing facility and warehouse, this will bring the company’s workforce in Vietnam to more than 100 and supply multiple industrial markets, including healthcare, building facilities, food and beverage processing, manufacturing, transportation, pulp and paper, microelectronics, petrochemicals and power generation.
Ethisphere has named Lonza and Ecolab among the 136 publicly traded companies in 45 industries in 22 countries in its ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’ listing. These have outperformed a comparable index of large cap companies by 24.6 percentage points over the past five calendar years.
Lonza, which appeared for the second time was one of thee in the Pharmaceuticals category, along with Pfizer and Eli Lilly. The company said that the aware “acknowledges its successful efforts in combining performance with integrity and accountability”.
Ecolab has agreed to acquire Purolite, a supplier of ion exchange resins for the separation and purification of solutions based in Pennsylvania, for $3.7 billion in cash. This should close within Q4, subject to regulatory clearance and other closing conditions. It is expected to be revenue-neutral in 2022 and slightly accretive in 2023.
Purolite operates in more than 30 countries and employs about 1,000 people, with expected 2021 sales of around $400 million. It will operate as a separate global business unit and it results will be reported within the Life Sciences division.
