Trillium chooses Ineos site

Trillium Renewable Chemicals has chosen Ineos Nitriles’ Green Lake facility in Port Lavaca, Texas, as the site for its Project Falcon demonstration plant to convert plant-based glycerol into acrylonitrile. This should begin operations in early 2025 and will help to validate commercial-scale economics and product carbon footprint at scale, the company said.

Political fallout as BASF closes UK site

BASF has notified Ineos that it intends to close its hexamethylene diamine (HMD) at the Seal Sands site on Teesside, UK. It has also served notice on its contract to supply services and utilities there until 2028. As a result, Ineos has begun consultation on the proposed closure of the services and utilities plant. In all, some 30 jobs could be lost.

Nouryon, Ineos break ground

Nouryon and Ineos Nitriles have broken ground on new facilities that will be built at the latter’s site in Cologne, Germany, and completed in 2021 or 2022.
